Situated in the north of the Lake District National Park and just eight miles from the M6 motorway at Penrith, Greenah Crag is an ideal location for exploring not only the North Lakes, but also the beautiful Eden Valley, Border Country and Hadrian's Wall, and the North Pennines. The historic city of Carlisle is just half an hour's ride away. Keswick, the 'capital' of the Northern Lakes is ten miles and Ullswater only five.
The Lowther Castle Estate is just 12 miles away. It is supposed to be the Eden Project of the North; it's amazing so far but has a long way to go.

Good walking abounds, from the peaks of Helvellyn, Skiddaw or Blencathra, to the more gentle but equally beautiful lakeside walks. Fly fishing is available at Cocklakes just a mile away. But whatever your interest - walking, climbing, biking, sailing, wildlife and natural history -or just simply relaxing - there is something for all tastes. For children too there are many places of interest.

Greenagh Crag Bed and Breakfast

The area around Greenah Crag is a haven for wildlife. Here you will find badgers, foxes, deer, rabbits (to name but a few) and a large variety of birds.

Stone steps provide ideal stands for plant pots.
You might even see a red squirrel who visits us
occasionally, photographed here from the breakfast
table, by a French guest, Bernard De Muynck.
